I am not about to name any names but if you are involved in any way in the internet marketing world then you know who or what I am talking about. Now at first glance these services seem fantastic. No need to worry about spending hours writing you own content, instead you can spend more time on promoting your sites and more importantly making money from them.

However does using them run the risk of the ‘wrath of google’?? (Nice film title, expect to see it on some guide promising you the moon soon, LOL). There are two aspects to the wrath of google and somewhat surpisingly they are always mutually inclusive. They are getting banned by Google, the search engine, or banned by Adsense. As mentioned getting banned by one does not always meen getting banned by the other, but you could argue that getting banned by the search engine will make your adsense pretty worthless anyway.

So lets start with the search engine side of things. As long as the content is of a good quality then personally I do not see a problem with it. Ok so you are looking at a duplicate penalty, but if you read between the lines on what google has to say about this, it should not get you banned. There real problem with dupe content is when it is used on the same site and the only real risk you run is that your page will not be indexed as Google say they will only index one identical peice of content giving the honors to the original occurence.

Now this is my own opinion and not LAW so take it onboard with that in mind. Many of my niche sites (not IM) have content that is used elsewhere and it does get indexed but your own experience may vary.

Now to the more complicated adsense issue. I think using these services is more likely to get you banned by adsense (definitley the lesser of 2 evils) as you run the risk of being accused of creating sites specifically for adsense, at least in their eyes, which apparently they do not like. That said I can’t see anything specific in their TOS that says you can’t use articles from other sources but as laways it is very difficult to get a straight answer from Google and trying to decipher their rules and regs would take someone of the intellect of Einstein, in my opinion.

I am leaving the comments open, so please feel free to voice your opinion on this one though only use html to point to legitimate references lke google and not promoting your site (I will remove them) and if any of the Mights G’s minions are around, love to hear from you but I won’t hold my breath! I’ll send a personal invite to our lord and master Sir Cutts but this is probably not even worth him getting out of his chair LOL!

Will Using Content From Automated Service Get You Banned

If you are using Firefox and let’s face it anyone who is doing business online should be then something really interesting happens when using google search.

If you are using Firefox then type any search into the google search like car sales for instance

Ok now try clicking on the top ad on the right. STOP don’t click it will cost the poor guy money, just run your mouse over it.

No grabby hand! If your mouse pointer does not change then basically that ad is not clickable!

So some poor sod has paid premium price to get position 3 or the top add on the side and nobody using FF can click it!

I’ve posted this in a couple of places and most people are experiencing the same thing as me. Internet Explorer is fine (now there is a change LOL) it’s just FF.

Some people with older versions of firefox said it was clickable weird!

I guess the support poeple at firefox or Google need to look at this!

Actually I guess for once maybe google are not to blame maybe it is just firefox?

Of course it is not a major catastrophe, I mean you are not paying For lost clicks or anything but it will ruin your ctr as presumably it registers as an impression but you will never get a click!!
